The Project

This project marked my first park development initiative, which I led from concept through completion. The park established a strong foundation for my approach to placemaking—blending creative design, sustainability, and community identity with disciplined project execution.

I provided full lifecycle leadership, including project management, selection of the design team, permitting coordination, grant administration for two $500,000 PARTF awards, construction administration, and regular reporting to elected officials. I initiated the sculptural play feature concept and worked directly with the specialty subcontractor to bring it to life, while also designing the stacked boulder sculptures and overseeing their installation.

To strengthen the park’s environmental performance and long-term value, I secured additional grant funding for permeable pavers, a rain garden, and a living/green roof gazebo. After initial construction, I continued enhancing the park through added amenities and artistic elements, including locust wood swings, public art installations, misting stations, a global motion play feature, improved signage and plantings, expanded hardscape at the pedestrian entrance, and landscaping along Millbrook Road.

The result is a park that reflects thoughtful stewardship, creative vision, and sustained commitment to quality—demonstrating my ability to pair innovation with strong operational and grant management expertise.
